Who was Shawna Nicole Williams?
Shawna was born, June 12, 1986 and passed away suddenly on November 19, 2006. She passed while in her first semester of her first year of college at Oklahoma State University. Her major was in Primary Education. Her goal was to become a preschool teacher. A shy and quiet young lady, she loved playing with children. She loved having fun while participating in the organizations that meant a lot to her. Shawna adored her family and worked hard in school to overcome her obstacles to be the best she could become.
Shawna graduated from Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2006. Her favorite life experiences were her membership in the Oklahoma City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and the 2005 "Fashionetta" self-help and merit scholarship program sponsored by the Beta Sigma Omega, Beta Beta and Kappa Psi Chapters of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. During the "Fashionetta" program, all participants are exposed to months of cultural, social, educational, community-service and self-development activities to assist their transition into college life and adulthood.
She enjoyed providing service to others; talking on the phone and spending time with friends. She always helped her mother with gardening, entertain at home, prepare dinner, especially during Thanksgiving. Shawna was a "Bright-Star" in her family. The purpose for her life is to serve as an ongoing messenger for so many teens that need a scholarship for higher education.
